| 内容介绍 : | Yeung So-ngo secretly helps pay off the passage to the capital undertaken by her lover Lau Si-yuen, an impoverished imperial exams candidate. The village is struck by a famine which has claimed the lives of Yeung's parents and left her destitute. Sold into the Chow family as a maid, Yeung is drugged and raped by her master Chow Bo and becomes a concubine. Yeung has stumbled upon the affair between Bo's wife, Madam Yu, and Cheuk Tsi-yeh . Alarmed, the adulterers hatch a murder plot with Chow's uncle Chow Choi to kill Bo. The body is discarded at Huafeng Pagoda, and the crime framed on Yeung. Lau, who comes first in the imperial exams, returns as the inspector-general and sees Bo's spirit in his dream, pleading for the redressing of injustice. Lau has the courtroom decorated as the Hades and the Heavenly Court respectively and induces confession from the three culprits. Acquitted of the false charges, Yeung rejoins Lau and rekindles their love. |
