| 内容介绍 : | Down-and-out scholar Yeung Chi-pang falls in love with Kong Yat-mui, but Kong has another keen suitor, the rich heir Lam Chen-sing. Kong's covetous parents force her to enter into a marriage contract with Lam, who agrees to furnish Yeung's treatment of a malicious disease on condition that he stops seeing her. Kong obliges. No sooner after their marriage is the family property of the Lams confiscated by the court for their practice in usury. Kong toils to make ends meet. Now financially better off, Yeung meets again Kong only to learn to his distress that she is married to Lam. Kong pours her heart out and gains Yeung's understanding, and the two become fast friends. Kong starts up a business with the loan lent by Yeung, but Lam miscomprehends that the two have rekindled their love and chastises Yeung. Kong's mediation brings about the couple's reconciliation.
