| 内容介绍 : | (Continued from Part One) Chui Tung upholds justice in the court. To Pau overrides his decision and sentences Ting Yuet -kam to death. Having pledged her fealty, Chui Mei-lan begs to accept the penalty in Ting's place but is vehemently rejected. Chui orders that the two women decide their fate by drawing the death lot. Mei-lan is accordingly detained, pending execution. The newly crowned imperial scholar Wan Man-yuen is appointed the Imperial Inquisitor of Eight Provinces but pretends to be a failed scholar, believing that Chui has annulled the betrothal in view of his impoverished status. When Mei-lan's sacrifice for Ting is made known, he vows to repay the debts of gratitude. After paying a visit to the frail Ting recovering in a nunnery, Wan delegates Wong Sai-tak to lodge an appeal with the inspector-general. With the official's impending visit and Ting's father at large , To demands an early execution. Ting's father is arrested after a failed rescue attempt at the execution ground. Wan deliberately exposes the mistaken identity of the women and puts the execution on hold, only to implicate Chui who is duly imprisoned for incompetence. Ting is also arrested in the rescue efforts. Wan hurries to the execution ground, saving the lives of the wrongly accused from the blade and delivering the plotter to justice.
