内容介绍 :	Angered by the scholar Lin Shing-bik's remarks that his rulings are too arbitrary, supreme judge Chun Hung has him beaten up. The indignant scholar files an appeal with the emperor but is desisted by Chun's wife Yu Kam-man who begs for forgiveness and leaves a jade bangle as medical compensation. Chuns mother derides Yu for failing to produce a male heir and prevails on his son to take a concubine. Lin returns the bangle to Yu and bids her farewell, but their meeting is misconceived as a secret liaison. Coveting the jewel, the vendor Choi Luk sneaks into the house to steal it. The matriarch runs into the burglar and is murdered. The in-law stumbles upon the body and leaves her crimson palm print on the wall in her panic. With it, Chun sentences her to death. But Lin, returning as an inspector-general, proves her innocence by finding the real murderer. (Quoted from DVD cover)
