| 内容介绍 : | Chow Chung-leung falls victim to a treacherous setup by a courtier and defies his exile to a border platoon at the expense of his fiancee Hau-yee and her father who are separated in the turmoil. Engrossed in grief, the father loses his eyesight and drifts the streets as a roaming singer. Hau-yee hides out in the country where she lodges with Chow's sworn brother Fong Kei-ping. Honour and chastity holds them back from acknowledging mutual affection for each other. Having exacted his vengeance, Chow returns to his fiancee who finds herself accused of infidelity, a false charge cleared after an interminable explanation . Just then, the fugitive is tracked down by a team of officials and escorted to the capital where his verdict will be delivered. In dismay, Fong embarks on his journey to the capital, hoping to prove himself at the imperial exams. Waking up to find herself sightless, Hau-yee ekes out a living by singing in the streets where the father and daughter meet again. The newly crowned imperial scholar returns to undo the wrong that Chow has suffered. Freed to go home, Chow gracefully gives his blessing to Hau-yee and Fong. The blind daughter and father have their eyesight restored by a famed doctor. |
