| 内容介绍 : | Poor scholar Fong Shu-shing wins the affections of Wong Sau-ching with his noble character and many talents and is soon to be married into her family. Sau-ching's father, however, dies untimely on their wedding day leaving a will that grants the two sisters an equal share in the inheritance. Sau-ching's sister Sau-lan and her husband conspire to seize Sau-ching's share of inheritance and coax her into entrusting them with the family business. Sau-lan's mockery and sarcasm compel the diligent scholar to leave home to take the imperial exams held in the capital. His departure is followed by Sau-ching and Fong's father whose life is made difficult by Sau-lan. Sau-ching and the father eke out a living singing on the streets, unbeknown that Fong has been appointed imperial censor after taking top honours at the imperial exams and the money he sent home had all gone to Sau-lan's pocket. Fong finally reunites with Sau-ching and father who are entertaining the crowd outside the imperial censor residence. The official returns to his home village to give Sau-lan and her husband a good scolding , and accepts their true repentance. (Quoted from DVD cover) |
