| 内容介绍 : | At the dawn of Ming dynasty, retired scholar Fung Or retreats to a tranquil peasant life with his daughter Heung-lin, appreciating fine wine and flora with the first-degree scholar Ma Mang-ping. Or betroths his daughter to Ma in an attempt to extirpate Lord Eight's wanton desire to force the woman into concubinage. Cho, the tyrannical maternal brother of the prince, demands that Or resurrects a four-season lotus that has become extinct in the territory. The Ma couple travel many arduous paths and reach India where they obtain the seeds of the sporadic species, but the blossomed plant is plucked by Cho. Heung-lin accepts her destiny and jumps into the lotus pond which instantly becomes carpeted with flowers in full blossom. The emperor is exhilarated by the spectacular scene and seeks to take Ma in as his son-in-law. Ma, who defies the emperor's orders, is sentenced to death. Heung-lin emerges from the lotus pond amid a sudden gust of wind and chastises the licentious sovereign before ascending to heaven with her father and husband. |
