内容介绍 :	Social Butterfly Yan Ruyu is forced to leave Ni Jingshan when Ni's wife discovers their affair. Yan is enticed by swindler Xu Fengzhang into entering a marriage but later divorces him because of his fraudulent ways. Yan devotes herself to rearing her foster daughter Xiaoyu, who is groomed to be a courtesan. To this end, Yan invites rich businessmen to Xiaoyu's birthday party. But Xiaoyu seeks to be independent. On her birthday, the young woman overhears the conversation between Yan and Xu, the latter showing up with Xiaoyu's adoption papers to be used to blackmail Yan. Only then does Xiaoyu learn that Yan is not her natural mother. In the ensuing argument, Yan slaps Xiaoyu. Xiaoyu leaves home with her lover, leaving Yan to lead a lonely life. (Since no credits appear on the existing film copy, the names of characters are based on the phonetic pronunciations in the dialogue.)
