内容介绍 :	Old salt Sheng reminisces to young sailor Shu Nianxuan that he had a secret marriage pledge with Amei before sailing off. He came back a year later to find her the concubine of Liu Fuyu. But the marriage was in name only and Amei had given birth to Sheng's son. They planned to elope, but Amei unexpectedly stood him up and declared that the son was Liu's. Sheng never returned. From his late mother's diary Shu knows that Sheng is his father. Sheng finally learns to his bereavement that Amei was forced to lie to save his life. She left the Lius shortly afterward and raised their son all by herself. But with her health undermined from hard work, she died young. (Quoted from DVD cover)
