内容介绍 :	Mei Liang is the director and lead player of the Dajiang Drama Troupe. He and live-in girlfriend Sima Qiuhong are performing on stage one night when Qiuhong's classmate Xie Yulan visits them. Liang is immediately attracted to Yulan, who is in fact the mistress of the wealthy Third Master Cui. Liang and Yulan conduct an affair behind Qiuhong's back. When made aware of Liang's infidelity, Qiuhong, pregnant with Liang's child, suggests they get married but this is rejected by Liang. Liang commissioned his trusted associate Xiao Zhao acts as her informant with a view to arranging meetings between him and Yulan. Yulan successfully urges Liang to abandon Qiuhong. She steals money from Third Master Cui and runs away with Liang, indulging themselves overseas. Soon the money runs out. Qiuhong, meanwhile, supported by troupe members, gives birth to a daughter in hospital. Qiuhong meets the nurse Wu Jiayi, also jilted by Liang. Jiayi gives Qiuhong her special care and attention, but when Qiuhong is discharged, she contracts an illness and dies. Now, a discontent Yulan has found a new lover. Following a quarrel, Liang accidentally pushes Yulan down the stairs, killing her. Liang, now a fugitive, returns home, and finds Jiayi taking care of his daughter, Xiao Hong. The police arrive to arrest Liang. Eighteen years later, Liang is released from prison. A down-and-out Mei Liang goes backstage to his old venue to see his daughter on stage.
