内容介绍 :	Ding Yunlan is a student taking part in a drama. She plays an unmarried girl who discovers that she is pregnant. While Yunlan is practising her lines, the neighbour Pan Mingzhu overhears and mistakenly concludes that Yunlan is really pregnant. Knowing that Gu Wenjie is pursuing Yunlan, Mingzhu believes that he is the responsible father. As she herself is in love with Wenjie, Mingzhu urges Yunlan to have an abortion. Using this opportunity to learn her part, Yunlan carries on the facade. Next, Yunlan runs into her classmate Zhao Ruzhen on the way to a clinic, and learns that she is pregnant. Yunlan pulls Ruzhen away from a hasty decision to abort the baby. Meanwhile, Mingzhu has sent an anonymous letter to Yunlan's father, telling him that his daughter is pregnant. At this time, Wenjie calls on Yunlan's parents to ask for their consent to marry her. Wenjie thus learns that Yunlan is pregnant, and has second thoughts. Suspecting that Fang Jinghua, a medical student, is the father of the baby, Wenjie exploits his father's influence to have Jinghua dismissed from the hospital where he is serving his practicum. The next day, Wenjie calls again on the Ding family to propose. Ruzhen appears to denounce Wenjie as the father of her unwanted baby. Mingzhu then appears to expose the fact that Wenjie had picked up Yunlan's diary and thus learned that her pregnancy is faked. Wenjie leaves in humiliation. Jinghua then turns up, carrying nursery items, to exclaim his love for Yunlan . Touched, Yunlan happily accepts Jinghua's declaration. She gives an exceptional performance in the play, movingly bringing out the script's message of sympathy for unmarried pregnant women. (Based on viewing of the film)
