内容介绍 :	Xu Zijian is employed in his uncle Mo Huikang's bank in Taiwan. During a trip to Hong Kong for a meeting, Zijian is invited by an old classmate Luo Shumin to a gathering and meets Shumin's cousin Wenxia . They fall in love, despite Zijian is engaged to his cousin Ailing. Before returning to Taiwan, Zijian writes to Wenxia expressing his desire to call off his engagement with Ailing. Wenxia is about to visit Zijian but is given a sleeping drug by her aunt . Further letters are intercepted by the aunt and kept under lock and key, so that the two lovers lose contact with each other. Zijian, disappointed, has no choice but to marry Ailing. Several years later, Wenxia is posted to Taiwan, and there meets Zijian again. Now a father, Zijian is happy to see Wenxia and revives their affair. They even live together in secret. On New Year's Eve, Ailing has a traffic accident and becomes a cripple. Ailing's mother brings Zijian's children to visit Wenxia, asking Wenxia not to tear the family apart. Wenxia agrees to go away. When Zijian pursues her to the airport, Wenxia has already departed. Zijian is chastened; he visits Ailing in hospital, and is reconciled with the wife. (Based on viewing of the film)
