内容介绍 :	Lau Kam-sing and his cousin Lee Wan-chau are childhood sweethearts. They, however, are separated by the war. When they meet again several years later, Kam-sing has become a famous opera actor, while Wan-chau a fine lady. Their romance is rekindled after Wan-chau and her father watch Kam-sing performs at a theatre. Wan-chau is caught between Kam-sing and Ng Kim-man, a composer living next door who also admires her. One morning, Wan-chau calls at Kam-sing's apartment, leaving a note for a lunch gathering while Kam-sing is still asleep. It is messed up by the messenger Fatty Hong and Kam-sing is unable to read the note in time for the date. Wan-chau is disappointed. She goes home and cries. Meanwhile, an ex-coquette, Third Sister, continues her pursuit of Kam-sing. An uninterested Kam-sing writes a letter to reject her. At the same time, he also writes a letter expressing his love for Wan-chau. The letters are given to Fatty Hong to post, but the letters are posted wrongly to the respective parties, so that Third Sister receives the love letter, while Wan-chau receives the letter of rejection. Before Kam-sing has a chance to explain, Wan-chau has already married Kim-man. Dejected, Kam-sing goes overseas. War breaks out again. Wan-chau and Kim -man are forced to flee from home, where life is extremely difficult. Wan-chau's father falls ill and departs after some harsh words by Kim-man.
