内容介绍 :	Pak Ching-wan is a painter who is after fame and fortune. He is not a gifted artist but he insists on organising a personal exhibition, against the advice of his sisters Kim-wan, Chau-wan and her actor boyfriend , Yip King-chi. The exhibition goes ahead as planned and is a doomed one. On the closing day, a rich lady Lo Wah-nung, charmed by Ching-wan, buys all his paintings. Finding Wah-nung is both rich and beautiful, Ching-wan snubs his fiancee Yip Ying-sheung and soon proposes to Wah-nung. Kim-wan and Chau-wan oppose the marriage, but Ching-wan does not listen and leaves the family to marry Wah-nung. On the wedding day, Ying-sheung appears and accuses Ching-wan of fickleness. Wah-nung calls off the wedding. Ching-wan's dream of fame and riches is smashed and he ends up being a street pauper. Several years later, King-chi and Kim-wan become famous opera stars. On the premiere of their performance of the play Broken Illusions of Gold, King-chi and Kim-wan, Ying-sheung and Chau-wan arrive at the theatre in a limousine. Among the crowd is a tearful young man in rags - Ching-wan. (Extracted from the film brochure)
