内容介绍 :	An ailing farmer Lau Sin-cheung borrows money from village gentry Chow Kwun-yan who seizes his land on return. This forces Sin-cheung's son, Chung-leung, to hurry back from the city to settle matters with Kwan-yan. Kwun-yan refuses to return the land, but his sister Yuk-ngo sympathises with the Lau family. She leaves for the city to live with another brother, Sek-yan. Following the death of his father , Chung-leung brings his family to the city where they rent quarters from Lam Yee, a cousin of Yuk-ngo. Through Lam Yee's introduction, Chung-leung finds work in a theatre managed by Sek-yan. The deputy manager, Ng Do -shing, who has been defrauding the theatre, does not like the idea because he fears he may be discovered. Thus, Do-shing sows discord between Sek-yan and Kwun-yan. Abetted by Do-shing, Kwun-yan demands a large sum of money from the theatre safe. Chung-leung resigns from his job following the incident. Meanwhile, Do-shing and his crony known as Smuggler King hatch a plot, instigating Kwun-yan to murder his brother. This plot is discovered by Yuk-ngo and Lam Yee, who seek Chung-leung's help. Sek-yan is abducted and imprisoned in a shed. Chung-leung comes to free him while the women call the police, who arrive to arrest the villains. (Extracted from the film novel.)
