内容介绍 :	As war is about to break out, Mui Mung-wan decides to evacuate his family, together with lover Ah Foug and her mother, from Guangzhou to Hong Kong. Before setting off, Mung-wan loses touch with Ah Fong and the lovers are separated Ah Fong. In Hong Kong, Mung- wan finds a job in a company. The company director's sister Yu Man-ping falls in love with Mung-wan who still misses Ah Fong despite Man-ping's declarations of love. When Man-ping finds out that Mung-wan's father is going bankrupt and is hoping to borrow funds from Man-ping's brother, she instructs her brother to make the loan conditional on her marrying Mung-wan. Thus, Mung-wan is forced to agree to the marriage. On the day of their engagement, Mung- wan meets Ah Fong who is one of the entertainers in the party. Ah Fong leaves broken-hearted when she sees that her lover is to marry another woman. Mung-wan's father further asks Ah Fong to lie that she is married, thus thrashing Mung -wan's illusions about her. On their wedding night, Mung-wan quarrels with Man- ping. Mung-wan leaves as Man-ping asks for a divorce. Man-ping instructs her brother to marry Ah Fong as a condition of lending the money to Mung-wan's father. To help the father, Ah Fong agrees to the marriage. As the wedding nears, Mung-wan does not show himself, to Ah Fong's great distress. She takes poison but Mung-wan rushes to the scene in time to save Ah Fong. The two lovers are now reunited. (Based on viewing the film.)
