内容介绍 :	Young married couple Chan Hin-lei and Lucy Wong live and work in Hong Kong. They share accomodation with their good friend Lee Ping. War erupts and Hin-lei is arrested by the Japanese for not bowing to the conquerors. He is incarcerated in a labour camp. One day, in a routine check on residences, the Japanese officer Noda is attracted to Lucy, who is now under the care of Lee Ping. The Japanese hold Lee and Lucy. To secure Lee Ping's release so that he may go on searching for Hin-lei, Lucy agrees to be Noda's woman. Meanwhile, shoe repairman Ah Wai becomes a hatchet man for the Japanese after attending a victory party. Manipulating the faire and money thus obtained, he buys the love of a dance hall girl. When the war ends, Hin-lei returns home and is swayed by Ah Wai's gossip to believe that Lee Ping has snatched his wife away. On learning this, Lucy intends to meet Hin-lei to explain. However, on hearing Ah Wai's sarcastic remarks in a song meant to attack her, Lucy kills herself by jumping off a building. (Extracted from a 1947 newspaper synopsis. )
