内容介绍 :	Ching Mon-lung is falsely accus by his uncle as traitor and is arrested on his wedding day. He is saved by his good friend Ma Ying-lung but everyone else thinks he is dead . Ma suggests that he should go to work for the government to gain power for revenge. Before he leaves, he spends a night with his wife Fan Choi-wan. When Fan is found pregnant, the uncle accuses her of adultery with Ma. Fan's father, an official, sentences Ma to prison and forces his daughter to jump into a well. She does according to her father's order but climbs up at midnight. She scares Ching's uncle and aunt and frightens everybody away. The uncle takes away all of the property belonging to Ching's mother's. For six years, Fan and her son Siu Lun stay in the well and the haunted house to escape from people's attention. Once Siu Lun goes out and is mocked by street children. Fan tells him his father's story and he goes to ask for somebody to help him write a letter to the court. Without knowing that the writer is his father's uncle, Siu Lun tells him the whole story. The uncle catches him but he is saved by his grandmother. When Ching returns home after he becomes a senior official, he is responsible for this case and encounters his son and wife. The uncle is punished and Ching is reunited with his family.
