内容介绍 :	Every family has its own problems. Charlie Li feels secure with a rich father so he loafs around doing nothing. His father has a concubine and he asks his son to keep a close watch on her. Charlie harbours bad intention over Kong Xiangyun, the younger sister of the wife of a tenant Mr Zhong. Yun takes pains to avoid him. Zhong gets ripped off when applying for a job. Feeling dejected, he drinks excessively and loses his eyesight. Yun desperately looks for a jobbe, she comes a taxi dancer to help with the family finance. She meets Charlie in the dancing hall and gets raped . There is still another tenant in the flat. Old Jiang is seriously ill, and his children have to fend for themselves. He relies on his daughter Ah Chin to take care of the younger children. The family often suffers from hunger. The landlord's son has committed a crime, causing his wife to run away with a lover. In great shame Yun jumps into the sea to kill herself. Having heard the grievance of his sister-in-law and not wanting to get others in any further trouble, Zhong leaves a note and decides to jump from the rooftop. When he hesitates, Jiang also comes to the rooftop to do the same thing, as all his hopes have been dashed to pieces. Zhong, Yun and Jiang are on the verge of taking their own lives but change their minds with the encouragements from friends and families.
