内容介绍 :	Young widow Chow Lai-wan, the leading actress of an opera troupe, is in love with actor Leung Chi-hung. Yet she keeps the affair from her daughter Mary, believing that she will be against it. Aside from achieving excellence in conduct and studies, Mary desires to give up schooling to join the arts circle. The mother and the daughter quarrel over the matter. The Cantonese opera in which Hung and Wan take the leading roles enjoys a wide acclaim from the audience . The entire troupe celebrates the success at Wan's house. Mary's first public singing, which excels both in timbre and expression, appeals to the visitors. Hung promises to give her a role in the next performance. Overjoyed by the proposal, Mary cherishes good sentiments for Hung. The new drama will be based on the story of Hung, Wan and Mary, Hung hopes that Mary can understand the implication of the drama and so agree to his marriage with her mother. Wan suggests taking a trip to Macau for the three of them to provide an opportunity for Hung and Mary to foster their relations. As Hung walks with Mary, taking her in his arm, he hints at his plan of marrying her mother. Mary misinterprets his overtones as she has already fallen in love with him. Mary has in fact fallen for Leung and upon learning about their relationship, she leaves home angrily. Wan is depressed becomes sick, without Lai-wan, the charity show cannot be launched. Mary ultimately returns home to comfort her mother, having read the news about her mother in the newspaper. Her re-appearance immediately cures Wan and the charity show can be held as scheduled. Mother and daughter reconcile, Wan and Hung get married in the end.
