内容介绍 :	Yiu Yam-sheung is a businessman in Shanghai. Though he has a wife back in his village, he takes a mistress, Hang-chai, who bears him two children, Shu -sang and Shu-zhen. On returning home with the mistress, Yam-sheung learns that his first wife is ill. Seeing the mistress, the wife is further upset, thus aggravating her illness. Before she dies, she asks Hang-chai to treat her only son, Pak-ling, as her own. Yam-sheung's cousin, Yim Sheung-ping, and his daughter, Yui-chu, come calling. Shu-sang and Yui-chu fall in love at first sight, but Hang -chai wants to match her with Pak-ling. An angry Shu-sang leaves home to stay with a classmate, Szeto Kim-hon. Kim-hon, in fact, has sold his house to Kwan Sau-heung, a socialite. She becomes attracted to Shu-sang and initiates an affair. Pak-ling, worried that she may lead Shu-sang astray, plots with Kim-hon to separate them. They manage to separate them, but when Sau-heung learns of the plot, she confronts Pak-ling. During the quarrel, she is killed by his assistant, who then runs away. Pak-ling is arrested for murder. War erupts. Pak-ling escapes when his prison is bombed. He meets Shu-zhen. When they reply to an advertisement calling for mourners, they discover that the dead man is their father. Grief-stricken, Pak-ling leaves the house. Hang-chai runs after him and is knocked down by a car driven by Shu-sang. After explanation by Sheung-ping and Yui-chu, Pak-ling is reconciled with his stepbrother Shu-sang.
