内容介绍 :	Hui Lan-fong and Hui Mui-fong are sisters. Mui-fong has just graduated from high school and is ignorant of the real world . Lan-fong is a restaurant waitress but she tells her younger sister that she works as a clerk there. She contracts a lung disease because of hard work. Lan-fong admires her colleague Mang Chung-leung, but Chung-leung loves Mui- fong. One day, Lan-fong is harassed by a rich businessman Chow Ming-tat at the restaurant. Chung-leung comes forward to defend Lan-fong and locks in an argument with Ming-tat and his friend, Ho Chuen-sum. Chung-leung is fired. He later finds a job in a hospital. Mui-fong gets to know Chuen-sum and Ming-tat. Ming-tat craves after Mui-fong offers her a job. But Lan-fong advises Mui-fong against it. Ming-tat sows discord between the sisters, leading Mui-fong to leave her sister. Lan-fong collapses from her illness and is taken to hospital, with Chung-leung tending to her needs. Mui-fong lives with Ming- tat and later becomes pregnant. But Ming-tat has found a new girl friend and refuses to marry her. During an ensuing row, Ming-tat pushes Mui-fong to the ground. It is Chung-leung who takes Mui-fong to the hospital. The sisters meet at the hospital and are reconciled with each other. After learning the truth about Ming-tat, Mui-fong attempts to kill him. Lan-fong and Chung-leung try to stop her. During the scramble, Ming- tat hits his head on the piano and dies. Lan-fong asks Mui-fong to leave with Chung-leung while she admits the murder. Although Lan-fong is finally acquitted of the murder charge, she dies of her illness. Mui-fong and Chung-leung return to the mainland to start a new life. (Extracted from a newspaper synopsis.)
