内容介绍 :	Cantonese opera scriptwriter Kong Suet-ying is sacked by the troupe manager because his works are too high brow. Hon So-mui, a star actress of the troupe, admires Suet-ying's talent and speaks for him to the manager, but to no avail. Suet-ying's son falls ill. To pay for medicine, Suet-ying pulls out his golden tooth and sells it for money . However, his landlady snatches his money to pay for the outstanding rents. Suet-ying's wife Chow Kim-ping is introduced by Chan Yau-sam, boyfriend of So Yee-mei, Kim-ping's old friend, to take up a high- paid job. However, Yau-sam has shady intentions. He introduces Kim-ping to his boss, Johnson Wong, a notorious womaniser. But Suet-ying senses Johnson is up to no good and thus gets into a disagreement with Kim-ping. Yee-mei and Yau-sam speak ill of Suet-ying in front of Kim-ping for Johnson, who seizes his chance to invite her to dinner. On his way escorting the drunken Kim-ping home, Johnson meets Suet-ying and an argument ensues. During the conflict, Suet-ying's baby dies. Kim-ping decides to divorce Suet-ying and follow Johnson. Suet-ying falls into a bout of depression but is comforted by So-mui who persuades him to write a new opera based on his life. The opera is Plum Blossom in the Snow. When staged, Suet-ying himself plays the leading role and becomes popular. Johnson abandons Kim-ping after a while. He now turns to So-mui. He abducts Suet- ying in order to make So-mui beg him for help and demands that she gives herself up to him. Kim-ping comes to know of it and informs the troupe. The members rush to her rescue. Suet-ying is freScript Continuity But Johnson critically injures Kim-ping during a struggle. As he tries to escape, Johnson slips and falls to his death.
