内容介绍 :	The Kongs is a traditional family. Old Master Kong is the one in charge of the whole family. His eldest son Kong Chi-man and his younger female cousin Han have known each other since they were kids. They have also started loving each other, though they have never expressed it. But the concubine of Old Master Kong stands in their way. She hopes her relative Mo-yi to be married into the distinguished family. In the end Chi -man is compelled to marry Mo-yi, under the order of Old Master Kong. But then Mo-yi is at odds with the concubine. Later she gets pregnant and her delivery time has come. The concubine insists on removing her from her cozy chamber to the small storage hut for firewood for delivery, claiming that the sight of bleeding will be detrimental to Old Kong. The cruel chill takes away the life of Mo-yi – even though her newborn baby survives, the uncontrolled bursting of blood during labor brings forth her death. Kam-sing is in love with a maid Siu-yin. Yet the old master's third younger brother sexually assaults her. Stricken by shame and rage, the girl eventually commits suicide. Kam-sing finally leaves the family to join the army.
