内容介绍 :	Chiu Man-kit grows up in a peasant family, he studies very hard and wants to leaves his family to pursue his studies in the city. His parents oppose it, but his wife Ng Yeuk-lin persuades his parents to let him go. When his father knows that Kit really gets excellent academic results, he is happy and gratified . Kit has some schoolmates Lau Sik-yee, Lee Sze-yin and Ho Lai-sze, who seek pleasure and play all day long and neglect their studies. Yee, a rich heiress, admires Kit's talent, so she invents some excuses to see him very often. There he is given to pleasures and his academic results become bad. His teacher Mr. Kam tried to reason with him but with no avail. Kit is seeking a pleasurable life, he even marries Yee as his second wife. His father is angry with him, Lin feels extremely heartbroken. Kit's father has spent all his savings for Kit's study. Meanwhile, a great famine breaks out in his home village. Chiu's parents die from hunger, and Chiu's wife Ng Yeuk-lin is forced to sell her son. Having realised Yee's infidelity, the prodigal son makes his journey home. He witnesses Lin's plight and asks to be pardoned. With the son's timely return, the family is at last reunited.
