内容介绍 :	Scholar Ho Man-sau leads a wretched life far from home, and he earns his living by selling pictures. Cheung Tong, who is rich and powerful , is a lecher. He is fond of Man-sau's wife Wong King-chun. Cheung Tong kills a servant girl Lap-mui, and puts the blame on Man-sau. Man-sau is banished. Cheung Tong forces the officer Wong Ting to kill Man-sau on the way of banishment. Wong Ting believes that Man-sau is innocent and adopts him. Ting announces that Man-sau has died, in which both Cheung Tong and King-chun believe. Cheung Tong asks King-chun to marry him, King-chun pretends to agree. On the wedding night, King-chun tries to kill Cheung Tong but fails. She is then imprisoned. Cheung Tong also confesses that he has killed Lap-mui. Lap-mui's sister Tung- mui learns the truth, so she brings King-chun to Lin Fung Nunnery. Hearing that King-chun agrees to marry Cheung Tong, Man-sau works hard for the imperial examination. He becomes the Number One Scholar and is appointed as the imperial inspector, responsible for re-trial of all the unjust cases. Man-sau goes to Lin Fung Nunnery in disguise. Then he learns King-chun remains faithful to him. The next day, Man-sau tries the case again, King-chun and Tung-mui accuse Cheung Tong. Man-chun reveals himself and declares Cheung Tong guilty. Man-sau and King-chun are finally reunited.
