内容介绍 :	Shui-ling's biological mother has left her a fortune that is coveted by her stepmother. Her stepmother hopes to gain some benefit through the marriage between Ling and her younger cousin, King-choy. However, Ling already has a boyfriend, Chi-kong. Her stepmother and Choy repeatedly try to separate them, but fail. When Ling and Kong finally get married, her stepmother and Choy nurse a hatred towards the couple and await the opportunity to take revenge. Less than a month after their marriage , Kong goes on a business trip to a distant place. Choy uses this opportunity to make photographs that show Ling and other men together, and fabricates stories that she has committed adultery. After Kong returns and hears the stories, he believes them to be true and drives Ling away. Ling enters a Buddhist temple for nuns. Choy indulges himself in gambling and tries to borrow money from Ling. But she has already donated her fortune to charitable organisations. Choy flies into a rage out of humiliation and uses joss sticks to burn Ling's eyes. Ling becomes blind and spends two years in solitude and darkness in the temple. Later, when Choy is arrested for murder, Kong learns the truth. He sends Ling into hospital for treatment. In the end, Ling regains her sight and is reunited with Kong.
