内容介绍 :	Yuen Sang lives in prefecture chief Li Kau's home and he is in love with Li's daughter Ping-leung. Ping-leung's step mother Fan looks down on Yuen because he is poor . Yuen is distressed and he leaves to seek his opportunities elsewhere. Fan is snobbish and she wants to marry Ping-leung to her sister's son Lau Biu. Biu is neither learned nor does he possess any skills, and Ping-leung despises him. One night, Biu sneaks into Ping-leung's bedroom, intending to rape her. She tries to defend herself and gets strangled to death by Lau Biu. The incident is seen by a thief called Ah Cheung. Biu and Fan order the servants to throw Ping- leung into the river and claim that Ping-leung has committed suicide by drowning herself. Later, Fan and Biu even murders Li Kau. After the death of Li, the spirit of Ping-leung lingers around the household. Fan employs an exorcist to drive the spirit away but in vain. Fan moves to Biu's family, leaving behind the maid Pik-heung to guard the mourning hall. When Yuen returns to find that Ping-leung has already died, he is very sad and he wants to kill himself too by jumping into a well. Ping-leung makes her appearance just in time to stop him from so doing. She tells him that she had only passed out when she was dumped into the river. Later, she was saved by Ah Cheung. She was mistaken for a ghost when she returned to see her father, so she just pretended to be a ghost to frighten Fan and the others . When Biu and Fan know that Yuen Sang has returned, they want to kill him because they are afraid he will discover their deeds. Ping-leung disguises as a ghost again and Biu and Fan are so frightened that they fall into the river, and die.
