内容介绍 :	Kwan Kung, who is penniless, arrives in the city to look for a job. He claims his first success with the help of Jenny Pak, a famous woman in town, recommends him to see the company manager, Tai-ming, and he is appointed business supervisor of the company. Ming has been courting Jenny, but Jenny gets along better with Kung and backs him up so that he can be promoted to manager. Kwan Kung weights fame and fortune more heavily than love. Ming is forced to flee to a distant place because Kung has framed him. Jenny leaves Kung after recognising his hypocrisy and vanity. Kung is broke but makes a comeback with the help of his old flame Fu Siu-mui. Mui is now the wife of a factory director and has not forgotten her relationship with Kung. Kung thus makes use of Mui for his company's benefit so that it becomes more and more prosperous. Mui suffers the same fate as Jenny and commits suicide. Kung has gained both fame and fortune. Kung's cousin, Nancy Chiu Yuet-yung, comes from the countryside to see him. He arranges for her to engage in social activities with rich merchants. Unfortunately, Nancy is raped and dies of shame. Later, Kung exploits the love of rich girl Pearl Tong to fawn on the people in power. With no exception, Pearl was abandoned like worn-out shoes. Finally, Kung is arrested for seducing minor female students and loses all his standing and reputation.
