内容介绍 :	Lee Yee-fan and her daughter, Siu-fan, earn a humble living by selling congee and cigarettes. Their neighbouring couple, Pak Ka-hung and wife are also penniless, but they treat Siu-fan like their daughter. Actually, Yee- fan is only Siu-fan's aunt. Both her brother and sister-in-law died, and she fosters Siu-fan and claims to be her mother. Chan Yu-sang is a rich businessman who likes Yee-fan, and is also very kind to both mother and daughter. Yee-fan rejects the proposal of Chan, because her mother re-married and consequently she was despised by others as step-daughter. She does like to see Siu-fan in the same plight. Siu-fan , however, considers Yu-sang a kind man, and encourages Yee-fan to marry him. Yee-fan finally accepts. On the day when marriage takes place, Yu-sang loses a fortune, and his business declines after the marriage. People put all the blame on Yee-fan. By and by, Yu-sang treats Yee-fan coldly. Yee-sang's son, Hak-kee squanders away the family fortune and steals money to meet debts. Yu-sang wrongly blames Siu-fan and Ka-hung for the theft. Before long, Yu-sang goes bankrupt. Hak-kee runs away with the money. Yee-fan and Siu-fan remains with Yu-sang. He realizes that he has blamed Siu-fan wrongly. In the time of distress, Yu-sang receives help from his good friend Ling tin-yeung. The joint venture to set up a factory revives the family fortune. Yee-sang also recommends Ka-hung to assist in the business. Meanwhile, Hak -kee becomes a pauper. Siu-fan recognizes him and begs forgiveness from Yee-sang for him. A family re-union follows.
