内容介绍 :	Yu-lan is chosen as a royal concubine. She succeeds in infatuating Emperor Xien-feng on his tour of the Yuan Ming Palace. She gives birth to Prince Zai-qun. In 1859 , the Anglo-French Army draws near to the capital. The Emperor discusses the exchange of treaty documents with high officials. Yu-lan attempts to intervene in state affairs. The failure of Chinese diplomacy leads to the advance of the Anglo-French army. The Qing army is annihilated. The Emperor has to flee to Yeho. The inhabitants of Peking are horrified. The invading army pillages the capital. The defending guerrilla army is no match and flees to the Yuan Ming Palace. The invaders arrive and plunder and burn down the Palace. The fire lasts for three days and nights. The Palace's official guardian drowns himself in a lake out of a guilty conscience. The Royal family is safe.
