内容介绍 :	Scholar Man Ping-sang runs into a snowstorm on his way home and is lost in the wilderness. Luckily, Chiu and his daughter, Pun-leong, save him and take good care of him. Chiu lets them get married and Man goes home with Pun-leong. Man is the only male child of his clan and his parents have great hopes for him. Man's cousin is in love with him and tries to please Man's mother in every way. Man's mother would also love to have her as a daughter-in-law. So when she finds out that Man has married the sickly-looking Pun-leong without her permission, she objects to the marriage, but has to give in when Man insists. The cousin's brother falls in love with Pun-leong, so brother and sister work hard to make the marriage fail. Pun-leong's illness does not get better. The cousin's brother bribes the doctor to say that Pun-leong's illness is contagious. Fearing for Man's life, his mother will not let Man near Pun-leong and moves her to a deserted villa in the countryside. Man has to leave to fight for the country. Before he leaves, his mother lets Pun-leong come home to give Man peace of mind. She is sent away as soon as Man has gone. When the war is won, Man comes home to find Pun-leong gone. He goes to the Chius and is told that she has died. The broken-hearted Man is just about to kill himself when Pun-leong appears, telling him that she feigned death so that Man would not displease his mother. Man's mother arrives and admits her prejudice. The past is forgotten, and Man and Pun-leong are together ever after.
