内容介绍 :	Having been separated for seven years since the War of Resistance against Japan broke out, Shu-kai and his girlfriend Yik-mei meet each other again in Hong Kong with their love unchanged. Wai-sun, Shu-kai's old classmate, rejoices at seeing him again and invites him to be an assistant in his clinic, where he may prepare for his licensing examination. Wai-sun, not courageous enough to woo Yik-mei himself, entrusts Shu-kai to be his matchmaker. Shu-kai tells Yik-mei about the proposal, which Yik- mei naturally declines. Unwilling to hart the friendly feelings among the three, Shu-kai plans to tell about the refusal at a suitable time. Yik-mei's mother asks Shu-kai to leave Yik-mei for the sake of her happiness and to repay Wai-sun for his kindness. Though unwilling, Shu-kai can do nothing but agrees. Shu-kai marries his cousin sister Po-king and his family emigrates. Po-king gambles away all the public funds administered by Shu-kai. They have a terrible quarrel. Scared, their daughter flees from home and is killed by a car which bumps into her. Shu-kai is also hurt and becomes insane. As for Yik-mei and Wai-sun, they live a happy life after their wedding. At a tempestuous night, Shu-kai suddenly appears before Yik-mei and Wai-sun. The drastic changes in their relation drive Shu-kai mad. He wants to kill Wai-sun. Wai-sun escorts Shu-kai to the hospital for an operation, which is successful. Yik-mei sheds tears of happiness. Po-king repents and takes Shu-kai home. Thus ends the love between Shu-kai and Yik-mei.
