内容介绍 :	A young lady named Pak Lei-ying is forced to be married to the gentleman and widower Sung. This is a substitute for the repayment of her father's debts to the Sung family. But before the wedding ceremony is held, the gentleman Sung dies and leaves behind him a young son Ho-yee. So, Pak Lei-ying, still unmarried, is kept in the Sung family to look after the small boy. A young scholar Wong Mong- ha works as resident tutor of Ho-yee in the Sung household. He has once met Pak in a buddhist temple, and since then she has been thinking of him day and night. Later, they do meet again in the rear garden of the Sung household. Then, knowing the sad story of Pak's life. Wong has profound sympathy for her and loves her all the more. But their relationship is discovered by the dead gentleman's old father. So, Mong-ha has to leave and go to sit the imperial examination in the capital. The old man Sung's daughter, Sheung-ling has always been adoring Wong. Now, knowing about the intimate relationship between Wong and Pak, she becomes jealous. One day, she tries to kill Pak with a bowl of poisoned soup. but unfortunately, Ho-yee drinks it and dies. So, seizing the chance, Sheung-ling brings a false charge against Pak of murdering Ho-yee, Pak is wronged and imprisoned. Later, Mong-ha wins the first place in the examination and is made provincial inspector. He knows clearly that Pak is innocent and reviews the case and thus the truth is disclosed. Sheung-ling is legally punished by excile while Wong and Pak get married at last.
