内容介绍 : King Zhou of the Shang Dynasty has waged war for years and uses up all the reserves. Tributes from the Dukes are used to finance King Zhou's expenses, and he is ruthless to those who send no tribute. The territory of Duke Su Hu, Chi Zhou, is flooded, so Su Hu is unable to raise the tribute. King Zhou's army captures Chi Zhou, and Su Hu is killed. Tan Ji, daughter of Su Hu, wants to take her life. But her maid Zhi Yan persuades Tan ji to offer herself to King Zhou. With her beauty, Tan Ji can lessen King Zhou's interest in work. If the Shang Dynasty collapses, then Su Hu can be avenged. Tan Ji follows her advice and departs for the capital Chao Ko with King Zhou. Queen Jiang wants to kill Tan Ji, but her plan is known by Zhi Yan. Zhi Yan reports the plan to King Zhou. Queen Jiang is executed and Tan Ji is crowned queen. Tan Ji makes King Zhou to indulge in wine and women, and extravagances are boundless. King Zhou is estranged from the officials, uninterested in work, and even orders the death of many loyal officials. The Shang Dynasty weakens. The people are provoked due to overwork and high tax. The Duke of Sipa is respected and is loyal to the Shang Dynasty. Despite that, King Zhou suspects the Duke of insurrection and so imprisons him in Chao Ko. The Duke recognizes Tan Ji as the cause of all unrest and orders his son Ji Fa to sneak into the palace and assassinate her. Indeed, before Su Hu was attacked by King Zhou, Ji Fa was acquainted with Tan Ji. They admire each other. And it is because of this admiration that Ji Fa misses his chance and is seized. Tan Ji stops King Zhou from executing Ji Fa immediately. Zhi Yan is aware that Tan Ji adores Ji Fa, therefore she releases Ji Fa and his father secretly and replaces them with someone else. King Zhou believes his throne is now secure after slaying Ji Fa and his father. Yet Ji Fa gathers a force of eight hundred Dukes to fight King Zhou. Only when Ji Fa reaches Chao Ko does King Zhou realize what has happened, but it is too late. Ji Fa captures Chao Ko, and both King Zhou and Tan Ji die, thus putting an end to the Shang Dynasty.
