内容介绍 :	The story of The Light of Overseas Chinese deals with Chiu Wai-man who goes to San Fransico to make a living. He wins the approval of his colleagues because of his hard work. He falls in love with Mei-yuk, the daughter of Uncle Fook, one of his colleagues in the shop. However, because of a lingering animosity with the adopted son of the boss, Wai-man is dismissed. Unwilling to impose himself on the generosity of others, Wai-man plans to open a laundry but discovers that all his savings have been stolen. With the help of Uncle Fook and Mei-yuk, Wai-man is able to open his own laundry at last. However, he faces another round of bad luck when his laundry is burned down. Eventually, he is helped by a wealthy benefactor who leaves Wai-man his inheritance. Time flies; Wai-man and Mei-yuk have two children. They look back on their efforts over the past thirty years and rejoice in their achievements.
