内容介绍 :	Madam Gum is a well-known dance hall girl. She gave birth to her daughter Yin-fan when she was young. She did not want Fan to live under the pressure of having a dance hall girl as a mother. So when Fan was five, Madam Gum gave her to some relatives and told Fan that her mother was dead. Nineteen years go by, and Madam Gum accidentally runs into Fan's husband, Man-fai, in Singapore. That same day, she is wrongly convicted of stealing and is put into jail for more than two months. When she is released, she goes to Hong Kong alone hoping to Fan. Madam Gum goes to Fai's company and tells him everything. Fai is surprised but accepts the truth. They have a talk and agree not to reveal the truth to Fan. However, Fai promises Madam Gum that he will arrange for her to see Fan. Madam Gum starts to see Fan on public occasions. Fai is worried that she won't be able to keep the secret and asks Madam Gum about it. Madam Gum swears that she will never let her daughter know her mother's identity. Fai is satisfied with her promise. Bing-chiu, who has been chasing after Fan since college, runs into Fai and Madam Gum. He tells Fan about it. Fan goes to Madam Gum to ask her not to destroy her family. Madam Jin is hurt but still will not tell her the truth. Madam Gum decides to leave Hong Kong and returns to Singapore. She goes to Fan's house wanting to see her one more time before she goes. Unexpectedly, a friend drags her into the house. It so happens that Fan is having her birthday party. Fai greets Madam Gum, which makes Fan angry. The other relatives and friends look down on Madam Gum and begin to leave the party. This makes Fan even more angry. She insults Madam Gum and throws a glass of wine in her face. Fai cannot stand it anymore and tells his wife who Madam Jin really is. Fan feels so guilty. All the others are moved by what Madam Gum has suffered and they start to accept her.
