内容介绍 :	The story occurs in late Qing dynasty and early republican years, where there are chaos caused by war. A village girl Hsu Hung-chiao is separated from her fiance Zhang Xiaolang and they lose contact with each other. Chiao sells herself as a courtesan and changes her name to Hongmei. Lang, on the other hand, becomes a servant in the Hu's mansion. One day the young master of the Hu's family Sanbao sends Lang to Hong, the prostitute he loves, bringing her a silk fabric. Mei encounters Lang, whose job is to deliver cloths, and finds out by chance that Lang is her long-lost fiance. Hung and Lang are therefore happily reunited. Meanwhile, both Bao and Master Liu strive to redeem Hong from the brothel, only to be intercepted by the elders and an overbearing wife respectively. Hung pretends that she is sick and she no longer sleeps with any patrons of the brothel. So the procurer sells her at a high price to Bao. Bao then realizes that Lang is his rival in love and he schemes to make him go to prison. As Hung cannot find Lang, she asks her close girlfriend Chao Chun to incite Liu, to bring Hu's parents to the brothel on the day of her forced marriage. The two rebuke their son on the spot and apologize to Lang. But the procurer again sells Hung to Liu. Luckily, Lang finds the wife of Liu and the latter goes to the brothel to give Liu a dressing down. Lang reaps the benefits of their struggle to marry Hong.
