内容介绍 :	Scholar Ching-wah makes a living as a scribe but the obnoxious Cheung Wang uses Ching-wah's name to cheat people of money. Ching-wah's talent is appreciated by the Imperial Minister, who betroths his daughter, Yuk-lan, to Ching -wah. Cheung Wang is enraged when he learns of Ching-wah's marriage to Yuk-lan, and arranges for Ching-wah to be beaten up. Ching-wah is saved by Miss Hung, whom he later marries. Ching-wah then goes to the capital to sit for the imperial examination. Cheung Wang, meanwhile, forces Yuk-lan to marry him. On the wedding night, Yuk-lan kills Cheung Wang. She is sentenced to death. On hearing the news, Ching-wah who has come first in the imperial examination, pleads innocence on behalf of Yuk-lan. After a trial by a tribunal of three eminent judges, Yuk-lan is found not guilty and is ordered by royal decree to marry Ching-wah.
