内容介绍 : Young master Kwai, a local villain and a traitor of Chinese people, collaborated with the Japanese during the war. But when the war is over, he bribes a government official who in turn appoints him as the commander of a "Village Mop-up Unit ." Bulky Ngau and Chicken are farmers who have been asked to pay heavy taxes on their land. Their crops are confiscated when they cannot pay the land rental tax. Ngau's wife goes to ask young master Kwai for mercy but has instead aroused Kwai's sexual desire . Thus, Kwai conspires with the village chief to draft Bulky Ngau and Chicken into the army, leaving Kwai free to seduce Ngau's wife. However, Bulky Ngau and Chicken flee the village and end up in Guangzhou. With Ngau gone, Kwai visits Ngau's wife and attempts to rape her, but she struggles and runs away. She eventually arrives in Guangzhou and hangs to her aunt for support. Ngau's wife works as a maid in a brothel run by Fatty Third Aunt. Meanwhile, Kwai's unit has been crushed by guerrillas . He escapes to Guangzhou where he visits Fatty Third Aunt's brothel. Kwai schemes with Fatty Third Aunt to trick Ngau's wife into incurring heavy debts and forces her to repay the debts by prostituting herself. Her first customer is none other than Kwai. Ngau and Chicken work as coolies but are press-ganged into the army. The two men return to Guangzhou on the disarmment. They prepare to return to the village on hearing that conditions there have changed. Ngau learns that his wife is in Guangzhou and sets out to look for her. Ngau's wife, meanwhile, has attempted to end her life but is dissuaded by Ah Mui, a fellow prostitute. Ah Mui helps Ngau's wife run away. With the help of Fourth Aunt, Ngau finally finds his wife, but is disheartened when he learns that she has prostituted herself. He eventually forgives his wife, at the exhortations of his comrades and when matters are explained. They pack up and return to the village. At the pier, Kwai, Fatty Third Aunt and the gang catch up with the party. A fight breaks out. Kwai is beaten up. The farmers board the vessel and return to the village.
