内容介绍 :	Pak Fu-yung and her father manage the Chang'an Restaurant. When Luk Yi-hung, the son of rich gentleman Luk Hon- lam, passes through, he falls in love at first sight with Fu-yung. They constantly meet at the lotus pond, exchanges rhapsodies of song numbers. Fu-yung is desired by local tyrant Wu Shan who threatens her and her father with foreclosure of their restaurant unless they pay increased rental. Yi-hung helps father and daughter out of their predicament but is suddenly recalled by his father. Before Yi-hung's departure, he and Fu-yung have made a secret pact of marriage. Wu Shan once again threatens Fu-yung and coerces her into an unwanted marriage. Before Yi-hung's departure, he and Fu-yung had made a secret pact of marriage. But when Fu-yung writes to Yi-hung for help, Luk Hon-lam is against his son returning to her and proposes abrogating their marriage without Yi-hung's knowledge. A dejected Fu-yung leaves behind a letter and jumps into the lotus pond. When Yi-hung receives news of Fu-yung's suicide, he swears to take revenge on Wu Shan. Yi-hung kills Wu Shan in the restaurant, and together with Fu-yung's father, the two pay tribute and mourning to Fu-yung by the lotus pond. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
