内容介绍 :	Indulging in work, Doctor Mui Kai-wing has no time to look after his sick wife but asks his good friend Doctor Lee to treat her. This deepens the rift between the couple. Rows are not infrequent. When Kai-wing turns to a nurse Ho Siu-lan for consolation; they fall in love. Kai-wing's wife dies suddenly one night, with only her best friend Lee Pui-zhen by her side. Kai-wing then lives with Siu-lan afterwards. Pui-zhen loves Kai-wing, but one-sidedly. She becomes jealous when Kai-wing rejects her and favours Siu-lan. She is even full of hatred when she learns about their marriage. She spreads the rumours that Kai-wing's wife died under suspicious circumstances and urges Nurse Chan, the woman who looked after the sick wife, to make a report to the police. The wife's body is exhumed. An autopsy is conducted and finds that the wife died of poisoning. Kai-wing is arrested for murdering his wife. After a trial, Kai-wing is convicted and sentenced to death. Doctor Lee notices that Pui-zhen suffers from extreme anxieties and this arouses his suspicion. On the eve of Kai-wing's execution, Doctor Lee visits Pui-zhen and deliberately sets the clock one hour ahead of the real time. Thinking that the execution has been carried, Pui-zhen loses control of her emotions and confesses to Doctor Lee that she is the real murderer. Doctor Lee telephones the judge and the execution is suspended. With her guilt revealed, Pui-zhen takes poison and kills herself. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
