内容介绍 :	Rich man's son Yuen Tsi-ching loves Fung-tsi, the beautiful girl of a humble family but Tsi-ching is forced to marry Kit-bing, daughter of a distinguished family. Kit-bing is unfaithful and has an affair with a distant cousin, Liu Sing-ho. War erupts. Fung-tsi's family is scattered and killed. She finds work as a servant girl through Uncle Chuen and is taken to the family of Tsi-ching. After meeting Fung- tsi again, Tsi-ching rekindles their relationship. A jealous Kit-bing then makes plans to do away with Fung-tsi but the servant Chau To warns Fung-tsi and she escapes. When Tsi-ching is informed by his sister about Kit-bing's conspiracy, Tsi-ching hands his wife and her lover Sing-ho to the law. Tsi-ching is distressed, thinking that Fung-tsi is gone forever. His friend Lee Pui-lan, who wants to be with him, keeps him company. Fung-tsi sees them drinking together one day. A desolated Fung-tsi decides to kill herself by plunging into the river. Tsi-ching grieves in front of Fung-tsi's grave but Fung-tsi is not dead, having been saved by peasants who bring her to Uncle Chuen. Uncle Chuen persuades Fung-tsi to see Tsi-ching. When at last she sees Tsi-ching, he is dying from taking poison. Unable to be apart from her lover, Fung-tsi takes the remaining poison. The two lovers die side by side.
