内容介绍 :	Haizhu is the daughter of the traitor Ling Tong. She is slowly going blind and leads a reclusive life in a village by the sea. There Haizhu meets young artist Tao Zhihua who has lost his eyesight. Originally a Shanghai resident, Zhihua's blindness was caused during a fracas when Ling Tong attempts to escape the wrathful attack of patriots. When Haizhu is made aware of this, she feels ashamed of her father's deeds and resolves to cure Zhihua of his blindness. When a doctor says Zhihua can be cured by surgery, Haizhu takes on the responsibility of looking after him until he is cured. Soon they fall in love. As Zhihua recovers his sight, he sets about to paint and becomes a major artist. He is invited to exhibit his works in Shanghai. There, Zhihua learns Haizhu's identity as the daughter of a traitor. Relations cool and when Zhihua looks for Haizhu in the village, he finds a letter left to him and mistakenly believes that Haizhu had committed suicide. Finally, Zhihua does see Haizhu one last time but she has gone blind as sorrows aggrevate her illness. To avoid laying burden on Zhihua, she finally ends her own life by plunging into the sea.
