内容介绍 :	Mui-neong is a pretty linen washer-woman who catches the eye of a military official, Ha-hau Ying . The local bully Cheung Yee-fu craves for Mui-neong and forces her to submit to him through manipulating Mui-neong's gambling brother. Ying comes to Mui-neong's aid and because of this, they fall in love and agree to marry. However , Ying's mother is against the marriage because of Mui-neong's background. After some pleading, Ying's mother reluctantly agrees to the marriage but hounds Mui-neong to desperation, forcing the couple to leave home. Cheung Yee-fu, meanwhile, plans a revenge against Ying and when the latter loses his position, Yee-fu and his thugs track Ying down and beat him half dead. Mui-neong turns to her mother-in-law for help, to no avail. Discovering that she is pregnant, Mui -neong has no other recourse but to become a song-girl to earn money for her husband's treatment. When the husband recovers, his mother tells him stories of Mui-neong's degradation. Though Ying and his mother finally realise they have wronged Mui-neong , she dies not long after giving birth to a son. (Extracted from newspaper synopsis)
