内容介绍 :	Ah Nui lives with her mother, having lost her father as a child. Rich man's son Ma Lin-kwai is attracted to Ah Nui and begins to court her. He finally gives the mother money so that he can marry Ah Nui. After their marriage, Ma shows his true colours as a philanderer and wife-beater. Unwilling to take the abuse, Ah Nui runs away to her home village, hoping to live with her mother not knowing that she has been killed. Disheartened when she learns the truth, Ah Nui attempts suicide but is saved by the neighbour, Second Aunt. Ah Nui later works as a servant girl in the household of Master Chan. Attracted to Ah Nui, Master Chan tries to seduce her and succeeds in having an affair. Ah Nui becomes pregnant but Master Chan drives her from the house on the pretext that she has been having an affair with the servant. Ah Nui gives birth to a daughter whom she names Ah Ching. Entrusting the daughter to the care of Second Aunt, Ah Nui goes to work on a boat. The years go by and Ah Ching grows into a lovely girl who falls in love with a rich man's son, who turns out to be Ma Lin-kwai. Learning this, Ah Nui confronts Ma. In the quarrel that follows, Ah Nui is seriously wounded but persists with the struggle until death -- both hers and Ma's. (Extracted from the film brochure.)
