内容介绍 :	Poon Yuk-wah is a poor girl who obtains the help of Fong Yan-chak's parents in paying the debt she owes for the medical fees of her sick mother. To repay the Fongs, she marries Fong Yan-chak . On the other hand, Yan-chak is friendly to another woman, Ngan-fa. Ngan-fa's parents were killed during the war and she relies on her cousin, Ah Biu, an inverterate gambler. Out of pity, Yan-chak always gives generously to Ngan-fa, who sells flowers for a living. Ah Biu eventually sells Ngan-fa to the brothel. Yan-chak and friends once go to the brothel for a night out. He meets Ngan-fa and becomes angry, thinking that she has willingly depraved herself. Thus, he demands to spend a night with Ngan-fa, who declines out of shame and runs away. Ah Biu then arranges for Yan-chak to spend the night with another girl Ah Zhen. Consequently, Yan -chak discovers that he has contracted reprosy. In order that he may not pass the disease to Yuk-wah, he calls off the marriage. Meanwhile, having learned about Yan-chak's disease, Ngan-fa confronts Ah Biu and in a struggle, both of them are killed. Yan-chak goes to Ah Zhen and strangles her to death so that she may not pass the disease to others. Finally, Yan-chak kills himself. (Based on a synopsis published in Wah Kiu Yat Po, 24 June 1948.)
